Daithí Ó hÉighnigh

M.A. Art Psychotherapy, MIACAT. RYT-500 Hrs.

Certified: Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Deep Listening, Social Dreaming.

I am a practising Art Psychotherapist holding an M.A. in Art Psychotherapy from CIT. I am a fully qualified professional member of the IACAT (Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists) and hold the RYT-500 Hrs. Yoga Teacher certification from Yoga Alliance. I currently have a private practice close to Wicklow town. My approach is humanistic and I employ a combination of directive and non-directive approaches to art-making.

Essentially, I believe happiness, well-being and access to healing is all about finding holding in nature. Our conversation with our environment, that which gives us life, serves as a metaphor for our relationship with ourselves. The more integrated and familiar the conversation, the more resilient one can become. As we learn to love ourselves, our experiences and our journeys more, we stand a better chance of being content and sitting easy in the world.

I have worked in a diverse range of environments with both male and female Clients of all ages. I have experience working with the following themes:

  • Mental health / Psychological well-being

  • Attachment issues

  • Separation / Loss / Bereavement

  • Displacement

  • Illness

  • Convalescence

  • Depression

  • Addiction

Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más;
caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.

Pathmaker, your footsteps
are the path and nothing more;
pathmaker, there is no path,
you make the path by walking.
— Antonio Machado
